The Prahari Club
A student-led movement against substance abuse, established in partnership with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).
Our Mission: A Drug-Free Campus
The Prahari Club is a student-led school club established as a joint initiative by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). Its primary purpose is to combat substance abuse and prevent drug trafficking in and around educational institutions through vigilance, peer support, and educational campaigns. The need for initiatives like the Prahari Club is especially urgent in Goa, where authorities have identified drug peddling near educational institutions as a growing concern. The Goa Police has compiled lists of drug peddlers operating near schools, and the state government has introduced a Substance Abuse Policy to safeguard students. Our club empowers students to be part of the solution — protecting themselves, their peers, and their community.

The club's official logo was designed collaboratively by students and unveiled on The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
Activities & Initiatives
Vigilance & Reporting
Members serve as watchful eyes on campus, reporting suspicious activity to designated teachers and authorities through established protocols.
Community Outreach
The club organizes awareness programmes in the local Pomburpa community, engaging parents and residents in the fight against drug abuse.
Collaboration with Authorities
Regular coordination with NCB, NCPCR, and local law enforcement ensures the club stays aligned with national anti-drug strategies.

A National Movement
The Prahari Club initiative is part of a nationwide drive by the Government of India. Over 22,000 Prahari Clubs have been established across schools in India, with the programme recognized in the Joint Action Plan on Prevention of Drugs and Substance Abuse among Children. St. Elizabeth's High School is proud to be among the early adopters of this vital initiative in Goa.
